Not less than 34,000 signatures need to be collected.
The organisations forming part of the Coalition to Abolish Spring Hunting are currently organising their teams to commence the collection of the signatures.
Some have already commenced.
Your help would be appreciated.

What happens if people sign the petition on different NGO websites, or do they all link to the one site?
Two points for your attention James :
(1) You do not sign on a website. Electronic signatures are not considered for the purposes of the Referendum Act in Malta. Signatures have to be the old-fashioned way : pen to paper. All petition forms will be collected in one central place and checked before submission. Obviously double signatures only count once.
(2) Only Maltese nationals entitled to vote in general elections can sign the petition and eventually vote in the referendum.
Okay then. I could have signed when I came over but I guess the slaughter of birds doesn’t concern tourists.
It certainly concerns tourists. But the decisions will be taken by Maltese voters as it should be.
Unfortunately this is an issue that affects (negatively) everyone, including tourists. But only Maltese eligible to vote in a general election can sign.
What you can do James, is write to newspapers how much it disturbs you, as a tourist.
A substantial amount of Maltese don’t care about birds or sustainability, but are not happy losing tourists because of someone’s “hobby”. Let’s make them aware of this reality.
Been doing that already for years but I’ll continue.
