Qed tagħqad u George Abela qiegħed il-Peru

Il-Membri Parlamentari Jefffey Pullicno Orlando u Franco Debono qed jgħidu li l-President tar-Repubblika jkun ġustifikat illi jibgħat għall-Avukat Lawrence Gonzi, Prim Ministru, biex jara li dan jagħmel verifika dwar jekk għadux igawdi l-appoġġ tal-Parlament.

Imma l-President tar-Repubblika George Abela dan ma nistax jagħmlu minħabba li qiegħed għal missjoni l-Peru.

L-Onorevoli qed jirreferu għall-provedimenti kostituzzjonali li l-Prim Ministru j/tkun dik il-persuna minn fost il-membri tal-Parlament li tgawdi l-appoġġ tal-maġġoranza tal-membri parlamentari. Għax fil-waqt li l-parlament huwa elett għal ħames snin il-Gvern qiegħed hemm sakemm ikollu l-fiduċja tal-Parlament!

Issa Franco qal li meta l-Eżekuttiv tal-PN ikkundannah, dan għamlu fl-assenza tiegħu. B’hekk inkisru d-drittijiet tiegħu. Jekk mhux ser jittrattawħ “sewwa” u jirrevedu l-kundanna tiegħu huwa jkollu jikkunsidra mill-ġdid il-posizzjoni tiegħu fil-PN.

Qalilna ukoll li b’Austin Gatt fil-Kabinett ma jistax jappoġġa l-Gvern. L-anqas il-budget ma jista’ jappoġġa.

Issa fir-realta tant qal affarijiet li kont insejt li meta bdiet l-istorja kollha kien qalilna ukoll li lest jappoġġa lil kulħadd ħlief lil Lawrence Gonzi.

Il-kobba issa qed titħabbel. Jekk tagħqad waqt li George Abela jkun għadu l-Peru ikollu jersaq fin-nofs is-Sur Anton Tabone, Aġent President.

  1. Jien ( u nassumi bosta nies ohrajn) kont sorpriz hafna meta sirt naf li l-Ecc. Tieghu il-President kien ser imur il-Peru. Bhal ohrajn ikkummentajt li t-‘timing’ kien mhux mistenni u hazin ghax kien hemm l-interess tal-pajjiz fin-nofs. Dan minhabba l-krizi Parlamentari.
    Jien deluz ghall-ahhar li l-Pajjiz jinsab f’din is-sitwazzjoni u l-President Dr. G. Abela qieghed imkien iehor.
Ukoll inhoss li l-President kellu jindahal u jinvestiga aktar mill-qrib is-sitwazzjoni politika li ninsabu fiha. Ilni bosta xhur b’parlament ineffettiv, biex ma nghidx ukoll redikolu ghall-ahhar. Hi ta min hi il-htija dik sfortunatament hija s-sitwazzjoni parlamentari prezenti. Affarijiet li jigru biss fi stati hekk imsejjha ‘banana republics.’
Ma kien hemm ebda indhil mill-Ecc. Tieghu il-President. Jista’ jkun li hu kellu ragun ma jindahalx ghax deherlu li kien ghadu kmieni wisq….Certament jekk kien hemm xi indhil minnu, sfortunatament jidher li ma gara xejn u ghadna f’sitwazzjoni negattiva u perikuluza.
Meta l-politikanti taghna ser idahhluha f’rashom ipoggu l-interess nazzjonali qabel dak partiggjan?

  2. Jien nahseb li ghaqdet u mhux ser taqghad .Iz-zaqq il-mimlija ma’ jimpurtahix mill-vojta.Dejjem hekk kienet.

  3. The three dissenting honourable gentlemen always had the option to resign their whip — i.e. move away from their Nationalist benches. Indeed as you say, the Hon Debono has been the most vocal and he keeps threatening and saying many things that we all lost track of. If he means it, he then should simply walk and bring the Government down with him. Yet he seems to talk a lot, but hardly walks. One does not need to be Copernicus to understand why the Nationalist Party can’t expel him and the Hons Orlando and Mugliette. This is like a dance of Tango, one step forward, two steps back. The tedium is doing no good to anyone, less so to Maltese democracy. But then again both parties love to play their games of hide and seek. They always did. Ultimately it is the people who really suffer from constant instability. Politicians are bow inhabiting their own spectacle and want ys to believe that theirs is the only truth and reality.
